Are artificial sweeteners OK for my elementary-school-age kids?

Like anything else, sweeteners are best in moderation. Although sucralose, aspartame and saccharin are authorized for use in food in the U.S. and other countries, it’s best to make sure your kids have a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods. Check with your pediatrician if you are concerned about a specific artificial sweetener for your child.
